Product Description

Involved in several processes, including negative regulation of branching involved in ureteric bud morphogenesis; negative regulation of cellular component organization; and negative regulation of substrate adhesion-dependent cell spreading. Acts upstream of or within positive regulation of stem cell differentiation; regulation of epithelial cell proliferation; and ureteric bud morphogenesis. Located in several cellular components, including basal plasma membrane; extracellular space; and lateral plasma membrane. Is expressed in alimentary system; genitourinary system; sensory organ; and skin. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in corneal dystrophy and gelatinous drop-like corneal dystrophy. Orthologous to human TACSTD2 (tumor associated calcium signal transducer 2).
